Portland loves its coffee. From Boyd Coffee Company and Stumptown Coffee Roasters to Starbucks and Tully’s and everything in-between, you better not get between a Stumptowner and their cup of joe lest you want to endure limitless angry, whiny hipster wrath (and that’s just in our offices)!

But, with nearly 3,000 coffee shops in the metro area to pick from (Holy java! That’s a lot of black tar!), which ones are Portlanders’ favorites and who has the best brew?

Who are the Portland Raging Grannies?

Portland is a social activist’s dream – an incredibly liberal city surrounded by a state filled with conservative ideals. The opportunities for lively debate and progressive discussion seem to thrive on every street corner.

However, in keeping with the “Keep Portland Weird” credo, there are some, well, unique social activist groups, and with all the protests in recent days, one kept getting our attention – the Portland Raging Grannies.

Portland loves its sweets. From decadent cupcakes from Cupcake Jones in the Pearl District to the infamous (and vegan) Cock-n-Balls doughnut from Voodoo Doughnuts. Pastries not your thing? Pick up some Bone Marrow and Smoke Cherries ice cream from Salt and Straw. Portland will candy-coat your sweet tooth.

So, imagine our excitement when Eater, Portland’s food blog, broke the news that the famous baker Christina Tosi will be bringing her mouth-watering Milk Bar treats to Portland!
