Lompoc Brewing, one of our favorite Portland breweries, is throwing a special can kickoff party this Friday the 13th (Friday, October 13, 2017) celebrating the release of their Lomporter Classic Porter in cans for only $6 per six-pack only at this event.
The party takes place at Fifth Quadrant, Lompoc’s brewery and pub (click here for a menu) which just happens to be one of our favorite hangouts in the Mississippi District of Portland.

Portland is definitely home to some of the best things in America. Beer? Absolutely. Bridges? Sure. Rain? We’ve got you covered. Weirdness? We’ve got it in spades.
However, when we heard that Stumptown was named one of America’s 15 Best Cities for Pizza, we couldn’t help but be proud of our town’s amazing restaurateurs. When the average person thinks “cities with great pizza,” they think New York City. They think Chicago. They don’t think Portland.

With marijuana use legalized in much of the Pacific Northwest, first with Washington legalizing the green machine in 2012 with Oregon sobering up long enough to make the vote in 2015, cannabis sales have become serious business.
And, as with any serious business, the consumer studies follow. The results of a study by Green Market Report of cannabis use answers the one big question we’ve all been asking: which fast food restaurant is the best for satisfying the Mary Jane Munchies?

Another private equity firm is buying a long-held Portland institution – it’s deja-voodoo all over again! The Portland Business Journal and Eater PDX, Portland’s brilliant food blog, broke the news that Fundamental Capital, a San Francisco private equity firm, purchased a significant stake in Voodoo Doughnut, the Portland bakery known for its… unique… doughnuts.
Let’s sprinkle some backstory of Voodoo Doughnuts and not glaze over what this deal means to the future of this Portland icon.

Portland’s Off the Waffle, as the name implies, makes amazing waffles, however thanks to recent consideration for an upcoming award, the local eatery may gain national exposure for what happens after you eat there.
That’s right. Off the Waffle is in the running as a finalist for 2017’s America’s Best Restroom contest.
